Kate Middleton showcases affordable summer style during day out with children

The Cambridge children were out and about this weekend.

Middleton, who is still on maternity leave, looked every inch the doting mom as she chased her young children around the polo grounds, stopping to comfort Prince George who became fussy as the afternoon wore on.

The siblings demonstrated their similarities to the average toddler while blissfully playing, rather than watching, dad Prince William compete in the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy match in Gloucester, England on Sunday. The event brings much of the royal family and thousands of spectators to Buckingham Palace.

And while most were looking at the game, our eyes were firmly glued to Kate and the young Prince and Princess as they played in the grass close by.

The outing comes after yesterday's Trooping The Colour ceremony, in which Charlotte enjoyed the flyover alongside her older brother Prince George as well as Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly's daughter Savannah Phillips.

However, several people on Twitter have shared their outrage as one of the toys Prince George was playing with was a toy gun.

Prince George smiled as he played with the the dark-blue toy gun while Kate watched William on the polo field.

George on the other hand was less than impressed after his older cousin, Savannah Phillips, stole his moment.

Down-to-earth Princess Diana, in a flowing white dress, wowed the crowds as she threw her arms up in the air to celebrate coming first against fellow mothers.

The baby prince was also absent from the Royal Family's balcony appearance on Saturday afternoon.
