Trump breaks with G7 joint statement

We agreed. We compromised on the communique.

"President Trump played that process in good faith".

"There's a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door".

That's what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference. He's also gone after Trudeau personally, accusing him of bring him "indignant" on Thursday and then "dishonest and weak" on Saturday.

BuzzFeed reported that the moment captured global leaders pushing for multilateral trade, while Trump refused to budge on his protectionist stance. Showing that images of conflict can be deployed by both sides, the hawkish former United Nations ambassador used the same picture in a tweet issued after Trump's early departure from the summit.

"Based on Justin's false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!" the president said in a tweet.

That prepared the ground for Trump's attack on the Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, and the USA withdrawal from a communique on trade negotiated in an attempt to defuse tensions over Trump's protectionist policy.

Mr Trump had already left the summit when Mr Trudeau announced retaliatory measures Canada would take next month in response to USA tariffs on steel and aluminium imports from Canada, Mexico and the European Union.

"Literally the day we announced that, we got back to the table with all the firms that are meant to be doing that construction", the minister said.

Trudeau's office, in turn, said the what the Canadian leader said on Saturday was nothing new.

However, Nilakshi de Silva broke Raj and Kaur's partnership by removing Mithali and soon Kaur was bowled out by Oshadi Ranasinghe. In reply, Bangladesh women chased down the target very comfortably as they went to victory by 9 wickets with 8.5 overs in hand.

Mr Trump denied that the summit had been contentious, a remark that contradicted what one G7 official described as a bitter harangue on Friday between the US President and his counterparts over tariffs. "The prime minister said nothing he hasn't said before - both in public, and in private conversations with the president".

But there were signs, among otherwise frustrated European leaders, that they see Trump and his "America First" agenda as an aberration and not necessarily as expressive of a new reality that will never change.

French President Emmanuel Macron's office on Sunday stressed the need for calm heads after the G7 summit ended in a fiasco in the Canadian town of Charlevoix. Reneging on the commitments agreed in the communique showed "incoherence and inconsistency", it said in a statement.

And German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas tweeted on Sunday that Mr Trump had partly "destroyed" Washington's trusting relationship with Europe by pulling out of the joint communique.

The comments, made after Trump had left to go to Singapore for his much-anticipated meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, infuriated the US president.

In an interview later in the morning on Fox News, Peter Navarro, a trade hard-liner who has Trump's ear, went even further.

"We commit to modernise the WTO to make it more fair as soon as possible".

Trudeau called the fact that the United States had based the tariffs on a national security reason "kind of insulting". The non-factual part of this is - they have enormous tariffs.

In much of the European press, the tendency was to underscore the historical significance of the rift between the United States and its continental allies. "You know, it's like the gig is up".
