Pep Guardiola has finally responded to Yaya Toure's claims that he's racist

Pep Guardiola will not open the door to a possible Barcelona return

A recent interview with France Football magazine saw Yaya Toure make claims that Pep Guardiola has a problem with footballers of African descent.

City and Guardiola initially declined to comment on the quotes, but the latter has now made it clear he totally refutes Toure's comments.

"What do you want me to do", added Guardiola in an interview with TV3.

"We were together two years and it is only now when he says it. He never told me face-to-face".

"It's not important, it doesn't matter".

As noted by Richard Fay of the Manchester Evening News, after leaving City this summer Toure has lashed out at Guardiola, saying he has an issue with African footballers.

The assault mirrored other truck attacks in 2016 that left scores dead, one in Nice, southern France, the other in Berlin. Akilov, a welder from Samarkand, Uzbekistan, applied for asylum in November 2014, but was rejected and told to leave.

'But when you realise that he has problems with Africans, wherever he goes, I ask myself questions.

Numerous players have come out in support of Guardiola since Toure's comments and now the manager himself has finally responded.

Bony was quickly loaned out to Stoke City for the 2016/17 season before being sold to Swansea City. Similar success followed at Bayern Munich before the 47-year-old guided Manchester City to Premier League and EFL Cup glory this term, but his time on the field and in the dugout for Barca means Guardiola remains inextricably linked to his boyhood club.

During his outburst, Toure said he wanted to smash "the myth" surrounding Guardiola.

Toure started just once in the Premier League in his final season at the Etihad, when he captained the side against Brighton in the penultimate game of the season.
