SLAYED BY SAUSAGE DOGS: Dachshunds maul woman to death

Tracy Garcia

A pack of sausage dogs has mauled a mother-of-two to death.

None weighed more than 18kg.

It is unclear at this time what led to the attack, and it is still under investigation.

Deputies reportedly fatally shot one of the dogs that charged at them.

"Unfortunately, yes, we had to shoot one dog", said Bryant. "It did charge our deputies and to protect our deputies, as well as the medical personnel, we did have to put down a dog". The other six dogs were taken to a local veterinary hospital where they were euthanized at the owner's request.

Dinwiddie said the younger dogs were a "standard dachshund and terrier mix" with "knobby legs" and the older dog is suspected to have been a border collie mix.

Penn State-Pitt game on September 8 will be in prime time
Penn State will play eight conference matchups, five of which are against teams who qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season. This is the third game of the four-year renewed series, although no other games have been scheduled in the future.

Dinwiddie said that the animals were "infested with fleas and ticks".

News outlet KTEN reported 52-year-old Tracy Garcia was standing outside her Carter County, Okla., home last Thursday when she was mauled by her neighbour's seven dogs. "We were cleaning ticks off ourselves all day", she said.

Vets at the animal shelter where they were euthanised described the animals as "very short-legged dogs".

"This is a bad situation, a very unfortunate situation", Bryant told KTEN.

"If there was any possible issue of them biting someone else then it would've been (done) but the dogs are deceased as well as the victim so there's just no reason to go spend the thousands and thousands of dollars", Dinwiddle said.
