RED Will Launch the Hydrogen One on AT&T and Verizon This Summer

Today, both AT&T and Verizon announced they will be carrying the RED Hydrogen One.

In May, however, it was reported the smartphone with a holographic display had been displayed as RED worked to include even more features. On the plus side, AT&T also offers consumers the chance to get a first look at the holographic smartphone through a demo at AT&T SHAPE at Warner Bros. RED announced early this month that it had to delay the Hydrogen One to August in order to improve the phone's camera. They will be previewing the phone to the public showing games, movies, and other content that will be available on it.

When the RED HYDROGEN ONE launches you'll be able to look around, below and into your screen's image with a 4-view holographic display, which is better still than 3D. In its press release for the announcement, Verizon also plays up the phone's ability to have a holographic display. We also know the phone will be compatible with modules similar to how the Moto Z or Essential Phone operate. It gives users a link to a page where they can sign up to receive email updates about the Hydrogen One.

The biggest takeaway from Brownlee's video of the Hydrogen One prototype, though, may be how big the phone is. If the pre-order price is any indication, though, prepare for a sizable dent in your bank account.

The Hydrogen One was previously delayed because it was waiting for carrier certification which it just received.
