Killeya-Jones transferring to NC State

Kentucky men's basketball forward Sacha Killeya-Jones announced he will transfer to NC State.

Jones, a former 5-star recruit from Chapel Hill, played two seasons at United Kingdom; he will redshirt next year, and have two years of eligibility remaining after the 2018-19 season.

SKJ will have to sit out this season, due to NCAA transfer rules, but he'll have two years of eligibility remaining when he takes the court again in 2019-20. On non-post-up attempts at the basket, Killeya-Jones shot 74.4 percent (32-of-43).

After receiving limited playing time as a freshman at Kentucky, Killey-Jones averaged 13.7 minutes per game as a sophomore and averaged 3.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. He arrived in Lexington, Ky., as the seventh-best power forward and 23rd overall player in the Class of 2016, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

Killeya-Jones was a McDonald's All-American and a two-time all-state selection at Virginia Episcopal in Lynchburg.

The 6-5 guard averaged 14.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game at Florida International last season. NC State will need to find a way to cut one scholarship before the fall.
