Addressing the limited phone storage issues faced by most Indians, Facebook has added a feature that will allow users to save photos and videos for later.
Facebook's Hayes on Wednesday said that large user base in India was posting Stories without video but were using their voice.
The all-new "Save Photos and Videos for later" will let users save photos and video they capture using Facebook's inbuilt camera within the app. Currently, it is possible to save photos and videos taken on the Camera to a phone's camera roll, but not to a Facebook account. The feature will be an opt-in addition and users will have the option to either permanently delete these or reshare it again either as a Story or a post at a later date. But now Facebook is expanding its creative work ground by enabling people share voice posts on its platform.
Given that data breach has been in the news, and Facebook has been in the midst of the Cambridge Analytica row, Hayes also said that the features can only be seen by the profile owner and there will be no data breach when it comes to leaking information. They won't even require written proficiency from users in a language that they can easily speak.

While announcing the new features Hayes stressed that how Facebook has been taking feedback from the community and especially users in India for the new tools for Stories.
Users will be able to put a background colour to audio posts or a background picture. There is now no limit for a voice post that is shared to News Feed, but the recording time is restricted by the local storage on the user's device.
Facebook is rolling out a series of India-first features to its stories format on its platform in the coming weeks. One can also choose to change the background colors of the story, add a background photo or a sticker among others.
Being able to view some of their old stories, said Hayes, was an issue that several people have raised. Voice posts can be shared in the same way that Stories and News Feed posts are shared, Facebook said. Facebook will now provide users with an option to turn out Stories Archive in their settings. These features will initially be available in India but is expected to be eventually available to users across the world.
