Cliff Bleszinski Shares Unused Game Ideas from Boss Key

As a final tribute to Boss Key Productions, Co-Founder Cliff Bleszinski shared a series of unused video games projects that he was working on before the studio closed. As promised in the statement Bleszinski gave yesterday, he has provided fans with a slew of concept art from games that are unreleased.

The first one is a ninja/samurai-dragon theme PvE title which he codenames DragonFlies. DragonFlies had a "feudalpunk" setting where you're able to play as ninjas and samurai. The developer of LawBreakers and Radical Heights "is no more", and he's taking a break from the video games industry. You would also come across dragon eggs and hatch them.

The second was "DogWalkers", initially planned for VR too, "inspired by WW2 tank crews/battles/the movie Fury".

Battlefield V will be revealed next week
Furthermore, he hints that the game will be called Battlefield V , which has always been a rumored title for the 2018 game. Should this be the case, then the game could be taking a cue from Activision and Sledgehammer Games' Call of Duty: WW2.

This title, however, was estimated and pitched at a production budget of $40 million, where publishers such as Microsoft, Sony, EA, 2K, Activision, and Warner Bros. all passed on the project, according to Bleszinski.

Breaking from the look of the previous two titles, Bleszinski also shared art and concepts for a game called "Donuts" which would have been "a VR spiritual sequel to Toobin", and which Bleszinski described as "Mario Kart on water with animals in VR". Players would be battling other players in massive DOGs, Destructive Ordinance (on the) Ground while trying to stay safe from the toxic air that inhabited the world. Titled Donuts, this game would have boasted a colorful and cute style that was created to "fight Seasonal Affection Disorder". As for why these projects never saw the light of day, he noted that a general problem with pitching ideas to publishers is that you're either often told that your idea is too similar to an existing project or that it's too unique to be marketed and financed properly.

Bleszinski emphasizes that these ideas were not his alone and that they represent a lot of people's hard work and creative talents.
