Driver of Hart family SUV was drunk, authorities say

A Facebook post Mr Toms put up about his daughter on the day before he was shot dead by police

Jennifer Hart, who police said intentionally drove her family off a cliff in Northern California in late March, was drunk, according to preliminary toxicology reports.

The woman's wife, Sarah, as well as two of the couple's six adopted children, were also found with "a significant amount" of an ingredient that can be found in Benadryl in their systems, according to tests.

The body of a young child has been discovered along a Northern Calfornia river by teams searching for a missing family whose SUV crashed into the rain-swollen waterway last week, authorities said Friday. California drivers are considered drunk with a level of 0.08 or higher.

The California Highway Patrol has also said the crash is thought to have been intentional.

The body was found on Friday on an exposed terrain which appeared to have covered by the Eel River within the last few days as a result of a recent weather storm which brought heavy rain to the area.

The Thottapilly family, Sandeep, his wife Soumya, 38, and their two children, 12-year-old Siddhant and his 9-year-old sister Saachi, embarked on a trip to Portland, Oregon from their Valencia residence on March 30.

A neighbor of the Harts in Woodland, Washington, had filed a complaint, saying the children were apparently being deprived of food as punishment. Police confirmed that Jennifer, Sarah, and their three children were dead.

Colorado police arrest woman found for filing Fictitious Record
Officers were called just before 1am on Friday, 13 April after a man had been found injured in an alleyway in Smannell Road. Tuesday, 2:43 a.m. - Police found a reported missing man on South Pioneer Street near East Main Street.

"These items were of a personal nature and will not be described further at this time, but it does confirm the fact the vehicle that was seen going into the river was that of the Thottapilly family", the California Highway Patrol said.

And authorities have said social services officials in OR contacted the West Linn Police Department about the family in 2013 while they were living in the area.

Authorities, who originally had said the body was a child's, anticipate that an autopsy will be performed early next week.

The family was officially reported as missing to the San Jose Police Department on April 8.

Argyropoulos wrote that as a family friend she initially thought Jennifer Hart was a loving mother.

There were no skid marks at the scene, Carpenter said.
