Attention Gmail users: your emails might 'self-destruct' soon

Glowing Gmail icon

Google simultaneously checking its compatibility with Chrome extension in order to ensure, the new design is hassle-free and widely accepted among users. This could potentially allow business users to more easily transcribe meetings or conference presentations, especially if it was filmed in a crowded conference hall.

Now Google will also introduce Gmail Confidential Mode in order to let users stop recipients from forwarding certain emails, or restricts the ability to copy, download, or print them. The default view will bring attachments to the forefront.

The Gmail overhaul, apart from a complete redesign, will also pack a handful of modern features you usually find on third-party clients. Other uses point to a better AI performance in software that uses voice control like phones, PCs, tablets or TVs. Like ephemeral stories, these emails will be automatically cleared as soon as they're in the inbox for a specific time period. It's likely that the Confidential Mode will be available along with Smart Reply and Snooze features when it starts to roll out.

Google in its mail assured a "fresh, clean look for Gmail on the web,".

And before the new Gmail design comes live, G Suite administrators will have a new toy to offer their Google Sheets users.

Sources say that popular Chrome extensions should continue to work in the new Gmail.

We're working on some major updates to Gmail (they're still in draft phase).

According to a screenshot shared by TechCrunch, Google said "In the coming weeks, we'll be announcing an Early Adopter Program (EAP) for a new experience in Gmail". However, there is one big concern surrounding the new feature which is - although Google does not allow printing, copying, or pasting of the email content there are no measures whatsoever to prevent the receiver from screenshotting the email.

The design looked more like the mobile app meaning Gmail itself could be updated in a similar way.
