Chinese reporter's eye roll goes viral

Ms Liang is annoyed as Ms Zhang spends nearly 45 seconds phrasing her question

The roll-eye came in response to a lengthy question at one of the heavily-scripted press conference held on a sideline of China's annual Parliament, the National People's Congress.

A reporter has been caught on live television dramatically rolling her eyes at a fellow journalist's question.

Impeccably coiffed and sporting a bright blue suit jacket, Yicai financial news service reporter Liang Xiangyi sighed and raised a sceptical eyebrow at another journalist's query to a delegate at a National People's Congress press event Tuesday. Then she turned to scrutinise the questioner in disbelief.

Soon after Liang Xiangyi became one of the most searched names in China, censors tried to curtail the hysteria.

This year's Two Sessions will most likely be remembered for the near-unanimous passing of a constitutional amendment that rescinded term limits for its president.

It was the eye-roll that launched a thousand gifs.

State broadcaster CCTV captured the moment on camera, in a clip that was uploaded to Youtube.

As for Zhang, her status as a "foreign journalist" was questioned by social media snoops, who claimed she pretended to be an outsider but was allegedly from China.

Doc find air pocket where part of man's brain should be
Twelve weeks after his hospital stay, the patient remained well and no longer felt weakness on his left side, the report said. The man sought medical attention after several months of unsteady walking, multiple falls and weakness on his left side.

"An eye-rolling representing all people who don't dare to do so", one social media user wrote.

In one video, three men did a deadpan recreation of the incident.

The journalist asking the question Tuesday introduced herself as Zhang Huijun with a U.S. news outlet, American Multimedia Television - though she kept referring to China as "our country" in her remarks.

On the messaging app WeChat, people jokingly separated Liang and the questioner into two parties based on the colour of their clothing.

Reporter named, Zhang Huijan, a Shanghai-based financial journalist, clad in red.

But the eye-roll resulted in her media accreditation to cover the NPC was revoked, reports South China Morning Post, quoting a colleague.

A leaked screenshot of an Yicai group chat showed Liang explaining herself. As the director of the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, what new moves will you make in 2018? With General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Xi proposing the One Belt One Road Initiative, state-owned enterprises have increased investment to countries along the route of One Belt One Road, so how can the overseas assets of state-owned enterprises be effectively supervised to prevent loss of assets? Liang asks, before signing off with a confident and concise: "Thank you!"
