Valve Dev Jess Cliffe Arrested for Child Sex Exploitation

Seattle police have arrested Jess Cliffe, co-creator of Valve's incredibly popular Counter-Strike online shooter, over the alleged sexual exploitation of a child. According to Seattle news site KIRO 7, Cliffe has not been charged with any crime at this time.

The co-creator of seminal first-person shooter Counter-Strike was reportedly arrested by the Seattle police on Thursday. Prosecutors have told Kiro-7, who have been following the story throughout the day, that typically when someone is booked on these charges they are involved in creating child pornography. Valve Corporation, his employer, has suspended his employment until further notice.

"We are still learning details of what actually happened", Valve said to Ars in a statement. "Reports suggest he has been arrested for a felony offence. As such we have suspended his employment until we know more".

He's known as the voice of Counter-Strike, voicing the phrase "Counter-Terrorists Win!" and countless other VO in the game. The 36-year-old developer pleaded not guilty after being arrested on assault charges in 2013, which were dismissed later that year by a King County court.
