3 dead in Western Ky. tugboat explosion

Three people were killed and six injured during an explosion inside a docked tug-boat in Calvert City, Kentucky, on Friday, Marshall County Emergency Management Capt. Justin Harris told CBS News.

Fix work was in progress on the tugboat when the explosion occurred, Cash said, but he didn't immediately know what type of work was underway.

Three were pronounced dead at the scene and numerous others were transported for injuries that range from non-life threatening to life-threatening.

He also expected a U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration official to join the investigation.

Several local crews responded to the call.
