Roy Moore's new spokesperson Janet Porter has been raising eyebrows over her increasingly freaky interviews, most recently a chat with CNN'sAnderson Cooper on Wednesday night.
Porter, who is from OH, called the Alabama Senate race "Ground Zero for religious liberty and Ground Zero for life", before comparing the allegations against Moore to the Duke Lacrosse case and railing against the Democratic establishment, the Republicans establishment, homosexuals, the mainstream media and more for teaming up against Moore. She also repeatedly referred to Doug Jones, Moore's Democratic opponent in the Alabama Senate race, as "Abortion Jones" (apparently her go-to nickname for Jones, as she also referred to him by that name during a December 2 county Republican rally).
Early in the 15-minute interview, Porter was grilled by Cooper on the sexual misconduct allegations against Moore. Porter insisted the accusations were false - planted by "the lynch mob media" and promoted by a host of conspirators, including the "Democrat establishment", people from the "abortion lobby" and billionaire George Soros.
"Your campaign has blamed an very bad lot of people for allegations against Moore", Cooper told. That's the reason why I came down, as a volunteer, to speak for Judge Roy Moore, because he'll stand for the rights of babies like yours in the womb.
Porter argued that "the establishment" is wont to push false allegations against candidates it doesn't like. "That's how a lynch mob works".
After Porter repeated that she's in Alabama because of the "culture wars", Cooper pressed her on a number of past statements Moore has made.
When Cooper asked her if Moore still believes homosexuality should be illegal, and still considers it comparable to bestiality, Porter responded by tossing a word salad: "I don't have that answer, but I can tell you what he does, what he does believe, regarding that issue".
"It's great to be with you", Porter said after Harlow introduced her.
Harlow replied "Janet, thank you for being with us, and I appreciate the congratulations on our son on the way". Watch the entire interview, including Cooper's suggestion that Porter - from OH - is carpetbagging and lots of talk about the Bible, the Constitution, and Sharia law.
"I get you don't want to answer these questions and that's cool, but I'd rather you just say I'd rather not answer them rather than just ignore them", Cooper said. "If you want to talk about making sure we don't have sexual predators". Cooper cut in, prompting Porter to finally agree that she would. Porter couldn't definitively answer Cooper's questions, and the discussion swiftly became a food fight about how Moore will defend religious liberty, drain the swamp, and all that other good stuff.
"I believe his position has to do whether we follow the Constitution or the ridiculously oppressive to women Sharia law", Porter replied. "The Bible has very clear things to say about a lot of issues".
"You're the spokesperson and you seem unwilling", Cooper later lectured Porter.
