Light snow is on the way

Tuesday Weather: Very Cold Day

For New England, odds favor a warmer than normal winter.

A relatively weak cold front is moving through the region Wednesday evening, bringing even colder conditions to the bi-state.

The highest likelihood for the most precipitation will be over southeastern MA. Even a little snow can cause some issues on the roads.

Snow chances are greater now for Saturday.

As the cold air continues to deepen over the Carolinas, precipitation that falls from Thursday night through Friday night could fall in the form of snow, at least at times. In response, a series of storm systems will develop off the coast of New England.

Showers move out and colder air moves in. Note it doesn't move very far inland as now forecast.

We still have another clipper system in for midweek next week, but it is getting pulled into 2 pieces.

Cyclone warning for Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, heavy rainfall likely
The met office advised the hoisting of Distant Cautionary Signal Number One (DC-I) at Paradip and Gopalpur Ports in Odisha. Sea condition will be rough to very rough along the coast from today in the evening till Saturday morning.

A somewhat subjective rating of the day's weather, on a scale of 0 to 10. It's going to be a generally sunny day with lots of sunshine across the area.

Northwest winds are in over the state today and that will be triggering some lake effect snow potential over northern tier counties in IN, mostly Laporte, St. Joe, Elkhart and Lagrange, along with parts of Kosciusko and Marshall. Monday's high will be in the mid 40s, but Tuesday's temperatures only make it to the 30s. It looks like the storm will develop and track too far offshore to have a major impact on CT. The lower atmosphere could be cold enough for a few snow flakes. For now, we expect mostly cloudy skies Sunday with snow showers, or perhaps a period of light snow.

Clouds remain over most of the Arklatex through Thursday.

Another blast of cold will move in Thursday morning making for the coldest day of the season so far. Saturday night should be dry and cold with lows mostly in the 20s, but some upper teens are possible. Increasing clouds help to slow the drop overnight, with lows holding in the upper 20s to lower 30s in most spots.

Sunday: Partly cloudy and chilly.

Sunshine and a few clouds. Highs are mainly in the mid-40s but, with breezes picking up from the west, should feel even colder.
