'49 Countries Violated UN Sanctions on N. Korea'

According to Voice of America (VoA), which is government funded global news source that serves as the United States federal government's official institution for non-military, external broadcasting, China didn't export any refined oil products to North Korea in October, abiding by the U.N resolution adopted in September in response to Pyongyang's relentless missile testing. According to the report by the Institute for Science and International Security, 12 countries were found to have military links with the regime, including Angola, Cuba, and Syria.

It also notes that worldwide pressure on North Korea has proven effective, as several countries cut trade and diplomatic ties with Pyongyang. Such ties with North Korea include military training, and the import and export of weapons.

The report's authors analyzed North Korean procurement data published by the UN Panel of Exports for the last three and a half years. The report pointed out that the regime seems to have mainly targeted countries with weak or non-existent export and finance controls. Twenty countries were found to have aided North Korea with shipments by "re-flagging" or changing the national registration of ships.
