The premier was briefed by the commanding general officer on the situation along LoC, the Indian ceasefire violations targeting civilians and befitting response by Pakistan Army. The Indian troops were retaliating effectively and strongly.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Indian forces targeted Kakuta village in Chirikot sector.

The latest incident of unprovoked firing took place three day after Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Line of Control in Chirikot sector.

The statement added the Indian diplomat was told that the "deliberate targeting of civilians" is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and worldwide human rights and humanitarian laws.

He urged that the Indian side should permit UNMOGIP to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions.
