Forever 21 warns of potential data breach that impacted payment card transactions

Forever 21 store at Jockey Plaza Mall in Lima Peru

Forever 21 is investigating a potential data breach which may have compromised customer information and payment cards.

The Los Angeles, California based company said the probe was focused on transactions made at its stores between March and October this year, and that since the investigation was ongoing, it could not give complete findings.

Popular clothing retailer Forever 21 revealed on Tuesday (14 November) that hackers may have gained unauthorised access to payment card systems at some of its stores, potentially compromising the credit card details of customers who shopped there.

Exercise can actually increase the size of your brain
Aerobic exercises may improve your memory functioning in a certain region of the brain, called the hippocampus. Research has shown that exercising has a positive impact on the hippocampus as it increases its size over time.

The retailer said it immediately began an investigation of its payment card systems and is being assisted by a leading security and forensics firm. The breach also seems to be limited to stores that did not receive a 2015 encryption upgrade on their point of sale devices. Forever 21 adds that only certain point of sale devices in some of the stores were affected, though, a full list of retail locations have not been released. Forever 21 said it expects to provide further updates as it gets more information on the specific stores and time frames that may have been involved.

"We regret that this incident occurred and apologize for any inconvenience", Forever 21 said.

It advises customers to keep a close eye on their credit- and debit-card statements and notify their bank or card issuer if any unauthorized charges pop up on them. We will continue to work to address this matter.
