El cofundador de Microsoft, Bill Gates siendo una de las personas más ricas del mundo.

Esta ciudad del futuro sería construida a 45 kilómetros del centro de Phoenix, Arizona, EUA y estaría diseñada para "incorporar la tecnología más avanzada [.] redes de alta velocidad digitales [.] centros de datos, las nuevas tecnologías para fabricación y distribución, con vehículos autónomos, entre otras cosas", de acuerdo a información proporcionada por el grupo Belmont Partners. Ahora ha decidido invertir una buena parte de su fortuna en crear una "ciudad inteligente" la cual tendrá por nombre Belmont.

Bill Gates invertirá 80 millones de dólares (mdd) para construir una ciudad inteligente en Arizona la cual consistirá en una superficie de 100 kilómetros cuadrados y 80,000 unidades residenciales.
