Google Assistant can now broadcast messages through your Google Home devices

Google Home broadcast turns the Assistant into a PA

The company says for everyday announcements like waking up, dinner or getting ready for bed, Assistant can send a playful message for you. And you don't have to be at home, either - you can tell the family you're on your way without having to make a phone call or send a text message. So when you need to round up the family in the morning, just say "Ok Google, broadcast it's time for school!" and your message will broadcast to all Assistant enabled speakers in your home. Users can say "Ok Google, broadcast [x]" to either Assistant on their phone or another speaker and have that custom message parroted out.

Starting today, Google Assistant just became even more useful than ever. There are special effects for some things - if you say "Ok Google, broadcast it's dinner time" a dinner bell will ring on all your Google Homes. Will you be using this feature? Google has begun rolling out an update that will allow you to use your Home devices as an intercom system within your apartment or house (or office, if you hate your co-workers). You don't have to be near a Google Home speaker for this feature to work, either.
