After Sheikh's wicket, Ghosh continued to hammer India bowlers and stitched an unbroken 83-run stand with Mohammad Tawhid Hridoy to guide their team to the semi-finals.

After a weather delay which delayed the start of the match and reduced the contest to 24 overs a side, Malaysia collapsed in dramatic fashion to slide to a 12th consecutive defeat in four editions of the tournament. Before the start of the tournament, India coach Rahul Dravid had said that results are not his focus with the team.

But Pinak Ghosh smashed an unbeaten 82 to lead Bangaldesh to 191-2 in 28 overs and set up a meeting with Pakistan in the semi-finals on Thursday. The Bangladesh batsmen performed just the opposite of Indians and chased down the target with four overs remaining. Pakistan and Afghanistan are the other two teams to reach semi-final from Group B.
