Michy Batshuayi brace helps Chelsea withstand pressure to sink Watford

Antonio Conte Chelsea

After Pedro put the hosts ahead with a fine strike from distance, Watford battled back to deservedly lead through Abdoulaye Doucoure's fourth goal of the season and Roberto Pereyra's first since last November.

Batshuayi came on the the 61st minute against Watford and scored two goals to help turn the match from 1-2 down to a 4-2 win in favour of the Blues.

Michy Batshuayi has made just three Premier League starts since joining Chelsea in the summer of 2016, but Conte believes that it is important for him to wait for his chance.

Chelsea have risen up the table to fourth and Cahill says that Batshuayi's goals on Saturday will be a boost to him as he fights for minutes on the pitch.

Azpilicueta's late victor was hardly deserved, but there's something to be said for a gritty win.

The Watford boss said: "It was a really unfair result".

"I think today when we were at 2-1 down it was a very hard moment".

"We were in control most of the time".

"When you concede seven goals in the last three games you have to try to understand and to try to improve".

That was until the last seconds before the interval, when David Luiz cleared a long throw-in only as far as Doucoure, who smashed a fine outside-of-the-boot shot through the crowded penalty area and past Courtois at his near post.

Chelsea made sure of the points in injury time when Batshuayi got his second, a mistake at the back gifting the Belgian a great chance as he held of Christian Kabasele to steer the ball past Gomes.

They were unfortunate given Pedro's opener came from a corner that should not have been given but they were also wasteful, Richarlison missing an excellent chance in the 54th minute to make it 3-1.

But who impressed for Chelsea against Watford? Everyone's frustrated in the dressing room but we need to continue.

Do you ever have any question about anything you wish to ask and get answer? Normally he scores and kills the match but that's football.

Azpilicueta scored the header that gave Chelsea the lead - coming back from a two-goal deficit.

On that decision, Silva added: "Of course everyone knows it was not a corner".
