CT troopers, assisted by members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force and K-9 Hogan, determined that narcotics were likely present, according to a press release, and proceeded to search the vehicle after receiving permission from Gomez-Alba, the owner of the auto. The fentanyl weighed one kilogram and carried a street value of about $1 million. They also say 28-year-old Gomez-Alba of Providence was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

They were ordered held on $500,000 bail set to be arraigned at New London District Court Thursday.
