United Kingdom police arrest man suspected of killing two women in London

Golders-green-murder

A man was arrested in Golders Hill Park two hours later after police received a call from a member of the public following a media appeal.

Police were looking for Joshua Cohen, 27, whom they said has paranoid schizophrenia, in the fatal stabbings of two women, a 66-year-old and a 33-year-old, at a home in the neighborhood in northwest London. They found the women with stab wounds and they were declared dead at the scene.

Met Police launched a manhunt earlier today for a 27-year-old suspect wanted in connection with the double murder investigation. Police said he knew both women.

Cohen was last seen wearing a red Nike hooded top with a white logo on the chest, dark grey pants or tracksuit bottoms and white trainers. Detectives added that he had recently shaved his head and eyebrows.

In a press release on Saturday 12 August, the Met police confirmed next-of-kin have been informed of the deaths. Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Rose told citizens that additional foot patrols will be present in the surrounding area.

A crime scene remains in place and post mortem examinations will be scheduled "in due course". We will continue to work with the CST and keep them fully updated with significant developments'.
